Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has condemned a Russian drone strike on a spent nuclear fuel storage facility at the Chornobyl nuclear plant, calling it a deliberate and 'vile' attack. No injuries were reported, and radiation levels remain stable, according to Ukrainian officials.

The strike partially destroyed a storage building at the site, state nuclear operator Enerhoatom reported. Zelensky linked the attack to broader Russian aggression, noting Moscow launched 88 missiles, over 3,250 drones, and 1,800 guided bombs across Ukraine last week.

Zelensky's comments came ahead of high-stakes talks in London with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. The so-called E3 group, key allies in the 'coalition of the willing,' discussed security guarantees for Ukraine as part of a potential future peace process.
Separately, at least three people were killed in a Russian strike on a village outside Zaporizhzhia. Ukrainian drone attacks on St. Petersburg continue to escalate, hitting targets deep inside Russia.
On Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin rejected Zelensky's open letter requesting face-to-face talks, insisting he will only end the war when Russia's strategic goals are achieved.
