Konate's hilarious reaction to being brutally snubbed by Leipzig

Ibrahima Konate left fans in stitches with his playful reaction to being brutally snubbed by RB Leipzig on Wednesday night.

But while Szoboszlai was gifted a special treat by his former employers, Konate was spared no such expense.

The Hungarian was handed a momento in the form of a red bull statue and Konate, not one to take his exclusion lightly, fired off a response.

He simply wrote '...' in the comments section after Leipzig posted a photo of Szoboszlai receiving his prize with some complimentary words.

Ibrahima Konate has hilariously reacted after Dominik Szoboszlai was gifted a red bull statue by old club RB Leipzig - but he was not!

'Nice seeing you home again,' the club had written of Szoboszlai. 'Wishing you all the best for the future.' No such gushing for Konate.

After seeing Konate's reaction, the social media admin scrambled for something to allay any fears of a rift. 'You are still one of us,' they settled for, replying to Konate.

More than 100 fans responded to Konate's comment, mostly with either crying or laughing faces.

The French international spent four seasons with the Bundesliga side between 2017 and 2021, helping them finish consistently in the top three and reaching the Champions League semi-finals.

That was, in fact, longer than Szoboszlai spent with Die Roten Bullen. The 23-year-old was only there for three seasons before joining Liverpool in the summer last year.

At least Konate had the last laugh over Leipzig as Liverpool went second in the Champions League group pohase with their third consecutive win.

Darwin Nunez netted his second goal of the season after latching on to Mo Salah's header to tap home in the 27th minute.

The result meant Arne Slot has won his first three Champions League games and 11 of his first 12 overall as Reds boss - a better than than Kenny Dalglish.
