Something to look forward to: While it's going to be many years before we see the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, those longing for fresh adventures in Night City will soon be able to experience them in tabletop form. A new board game based on the popular CDPR title launched its crowdfunding campaign yesterday, and it's already raised 2,597% of its funding goal.

We've seen teases of a new Cyberpunk 2077-based board game for a while now. Yesterday, CP2077 developer CD Projekt RED and its partner Go On Board launched Cyberpunk 2077 - The Board Game on Gamefound. It's a competitive game for 1 to 4 players, who take on the roles of Judy, Jackie, Panam, or V (both the male and female versions are included).

For fans of board games, this one looks excellent. It includes 16 enemies, 1 boss, and 13 different missions promising over 33 hours of campaign gameplay. There's also the Afterlife Mission Generator for creating custom missions once you've finished the main campaign.

The board game includes several elements from the video game, such as eddies, skills, Ripperdocs, cyberdecks, different weapons, items, and more. The standard edition is available for a $79 pledge alongside a $139 deluxe edition that offers plenty of extras, including all the bonus stretch goals.

The board game's funding target of $100,000 looks tiny compared to how much has been raised so far: just over $2.6 million from 16,244 backers (at the time of writing), and there are still 15 days left to go. The next stretch goal, the Chase Coley Boss Fight mission, unlocks at $2.75 million, so it looks as if that will be coming soon.

This isn't the first licensed Cyberpunk 2077 board game. Gangs of Night City was funded in 2022 on Kickstarter, blasting through its $100,000 target to reach a final goal of $886,783. It seems this latest incarnation is proving even more popular.

Both the Standard and Deluxe versions of Cyberpunk 2077 – the Board Game are scheduled to arrive in pledgers' hands sometime during December 2025. That's quite a wait, but given that CDPR is currently focusing all of its efforts on The Witcher 4, the Cyberpunk 2077 board game will still be here long before the video game version's sequel.
