Paddy Power punter wins £1350 after betting £1 on the Champions League

A Paddy Power punter won £1,350 after placing a £1 stake on three Champions League matches on Wednesday night.

The bettor put together a nine-fold Multi-Match Bet Builder that covered Liverpool's trip to RB Leipzig, Manchester City's home clash with Sparta Prague and Barcelona's showdown against Bayern Munich.

The two bets from the Liverpool game came in nice and early, with Alexis Mac Allister getting booked in the 12th minute before Mohamed Salah assisted Darwin Nunez's goal 15 minutes later.

The City game was a little more nervy for the punter, although Phil Foden got things off to a great start after scoring in the third minute having been chosen as a 'goal or assist' selection.

Erling Haaland netted twice in the second half having been picked to find the net at anytime, and the -1 handicap was never in danger as City secured an emphatic 5-0 win.

Robert Lewandowski also got on the scoresheet in a 4-1 Barcelona win after being backed by the bettor

But the bettor had to wait until the 87th minute for a Sparta Prague player to be booked, with Ecuador's Angelo Preciado shown a yellow card late on.

It all came down to Barcelona's home tie with Bayern Munich, and Harry Kane and Robert Lewandowski both scored in the first half to put the UK-based punter on the brink.

They needed Bayern midfielder Joao Palhinha to be booked, but he was taken off just after the hour mark.

However, thanks to Paddy Power's Super Sub offer, the selection rolled over to his replacement, Leon Goretzka. The German international was duly booked in the 90th minute for a late foul.

This summed up a miserable night for Bayern as they were thrashed 4-1 in Spain, but it completed a brilliant evening for the punter.

Their bet came in just in the nick of time, and they are now £1,354.58 richer.

With Paddy Power’s Super Sub offer your bet is still on, even if the player you originally bet on isn’t! On selected games and markets, bets carry over from the original selection to their replacement should they be taken off. FULL DETAILS HERE
