Nonfungible token platform Gondi has secured its operations after a hacker exploited its "Sell & Repay" smart contract, siphoning approximately $230,000 worth of NFTs. The protocol confirmed the exploit affected only this specific contract, which facilitates the sale of escrowed NFTs to automatically repay loans.

Gondi stated that an updated version of the contract was deployed in February, but the method of exploitation remains under investigation. The platform has disabled the compromised contract and is prioritizing compensation for affected customers. Data from Etherscan indicates 78 NFTs were stolen.

Members of the NFT community have reportedly helped recover some of the stolen assets, including notable pieces like Doodle and Lil Pudgy. Gondi is actively working to replace stolen NFTs with comparable items from the same collections to ensure a fair resolution for all users.
