PancakeSwap has surpassed $1 billion in cumulative trading volume for tokenized assets on its decentralized exchange. The platform reported the milestone on July 21, just four days after hitting $100 million in mid-year reports.
The BNB Chain, where PancakeSwap operates, now hosts over 709 tokenized stocks and ETFs. Its cumulative volume for tokenized stocks alone exceeds $5 billion, establishing it as a leader in this on-chain trading segment.
Key products driving this growth include the tokenized Nasdaq-100 (QQQB), which exceeded $100 million in 24-hour volume. PancakeSwap also facilitates trading in Binance’s bStocks, featuring tokenized versions of major companies like NVIDIA and Tesla.
Tokenized assets bridge traditional finance and crypto by offering 24/7 trading availability. Traditional stock markets operate limited hours, while crypto markets never close.
The protocol reported burning 56 million CAKE tokens during the period, indicating strong trading activity and sustainable demand. For CAKE holders, this combination of growing volume and token burns creates a favorable supply-demand dynamic.
Regulatory risk remains a significant concern. Tokenized stocks exist in a legal gray area across many jurisdictions, with classifications varying by country.
