A solo Bitcoin miner has hit a significant jackpot, validating a block for a reward of 3.125 Bitcoin, worth approximately $200,000.

The miner achieved this feat at block 957382 using a single, budget Bitaxe mining rig. The Bitaxe is a low-power device costing less than $200 and delivering a hashrate of about 1 terahash per second.

This win highlights that even a small, sub-$200 investment in mining hardware can, statistically rarely, yield a massive return for individual miners.

Such solo successes are not isolated events. In the past year, hobby-level miners have collectively validated 24 solo blocks, earning total payouts exceeding $4.7 million.

Data shows a 41% year-over-year increase in solo blocks mined, with the average interval between successful solo blocks standing at 15.2 days.
