SpaceX has signed a deal potentially worth $6.3 billion with Reflection AI, an open-source AI startup led by former DeepMind researchers. This partnership allows Reflection to utilize Nvidia’s GB300 chips at SpaceX’s Colossus 2 data center, previously built for xAI’s Grok chatbot.

The agreement entails monthly payments of $150 million starting July 1, 2026, lasting through 2029, with both parties able to exit after the first three months.

Founded in 2024 by Misha Laskin and Ioannis Antonoglou, Reflection AI aims to develop open-source AI models and coding automation tools. The startup has raised around $800 million, elevating its valuation to $25 billion, with Nvidia as a major investor.

SpaceX's Colossus 2 facility is designed for AI training, marking Reflection as just one of several clients, which include Anthropic and Google. The company also collaborates with the US Department of Energy and operates within Pentagon classified AI networks.

This deal establishes a pricing benchmark for large-scale GPU access. The monthly fee underscores the financial pressure Reflection AI faces in maintaining its valuation while spending heavily on computing resources.
