Illinois Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton has won the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate, defeating Representative Raja Krishnamoorthi, who received nearly $10 million in support from the crypto super PAC Fairshake.

Stratton was backed by Governor JB Pritzker. The seat is rated "Solid Democratic" by the Cook Political Report, making her the overwhelming favorite to win the general election this November.

Fairshake spent heavily attacking Stratton rather than promoting Krishnamoorthi directly-a tactic it used successfully in 2024. The group also spent nearly $2 million opposing La Shawn Ford, another candidate who prevailed in his race.

Stand With Crypto, a Coinbase-aligned group, gave Krishnamoorthi an "A" rating based on his voting record and responses to their questionnaire. Stratton received an "F" based on a single comment she made about her opponent being backed by "MAGA-backed crypto bros." The group noted she has not voted on any crypto legislation.
