A major US mortgage lender, Lakeview Loan Servicing, is set to pay $26 million to resolve a class action lawsuit. The suit alleged that a cybersecurity incident exposed the personal information of 2.53 million individuals nationwide.
The breach may have compromised sensitive data including names, Social Security numbers, and financial account details. Lakeview denies wrongdoing but has agreed to the settlement, which will offer payments and identity protection services to eligible class members.
