Medical technology firm Medtronic has confirmed a major data breach affecting the personal information of more than 3.8 million Americans.
In a press release, the company disclosed that an unauthorized entity gained access to its corporate IT systems between April 13 and April 19, 2026. Medtronic notified the Indiana Attorney General’s Office that 3,834,294 individuals were impacted.
The compromised data includes names, contact information, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and health-related records.
Medtronic is now notifying affected individuals and offering 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring, dark web monitoring, and identity theft restoration services. The company states it has not yet found evidence that the stolen information has been publicly exposed online.
