Wall Street stocks advanced Wednesday, extending a rebound in tech shares ahead of Nvidia earnings. The tech-centric Nasdaq led Tuesday's rally as markets reassessed the impact of artificial intelligence on legacy technology companies.
About 45 minutes into trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.2 percent. The broad-based S&P 500 gained 0.5 percent, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index rose 1.0 percent. The market largely shrugged off President Trump's address to Congress Tuesday night.
Among individual companies, Nvidia rose 1.7 percent ahead of earnings. The chip giant is projected to report substantial quarterly profits.
