Seeking a solution, Acclaim Autism partnered with Appian Corp., a process automation and AI software company. "We were able to get that six months down to about four days," stated Acclaim Autism founder Jamie Turner. This transformation was achieved by digitizing the entire intake process and integrating AI into the review of unstructured clinical documents, a historically challenging step.
Appian's AI-driven workflow automation reduced the error rate in document review to 5%. "Take something high value, low-complexity, get started, get the motion, get the wheels turning and then pull on the next thread," advised Appian's Senior Vice President of Engineering, Medhat Galal. This targeted approach allows staff to focus on higher-value tasks and ensures children receive critical services sooner.
