Clalit Health Services, Israel’s largest healthcare organization with over 4.8 million members, is a key partner in PANDAI, an international AI research initiative to tackle future pandemics in Europe.

Funded by Horizon Europe with an €8 million budget and a 36-month timeline, PANDAI consolidates healthcare data from the UK, Denmark, Spain, Luxembourg, Israel, and Bangladesh. Its AI platform detects outbreak patterns that human epidemiologists may overlook.

Clalit operates 14 hospitals and roughly 1,600 clinics, maintaining extensive longitudinal electronic health records since the 1990s. Their existing Clalit Predictive Proactive Interventions system, CPI, employs predictive analytics to foresee health risks.

Project partners include the University of Oxford, WHO, Technovative Solutions, and Bahia Software. In May 2023, Clalit expanded its data analytics capabilities through a partnership with Cloudera to enhance clinical decision-making.
