MDMA Decline, Ketamine and Cocaine Surge in European Wastewaters

MDMA use in Europe has dropped sharply, down 16% in 2025 compared to the previous year. The decline is attributed to younger users shifting to alternatives like ketamine. Meanwhile, cocaine and ketamine use has surged, up 22% and 41%, respectively. Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany lead in ketamine and cocaine detections.
