The family of Maya Gebala, a 12-year-old critically injured in a mass shooting, has accepted an offer for specialized treatment at a Los Angeles hospital. UFC president Dana White will cover the costs of this treatment.

Maya is recovering at BC Children's Hospital after being shot in the head. Her mother confirmed the family is embracing an aggressive rehabilitation approach through private healthcare in the U.S., calling it "an opportunity we could not refuse."

White previously contacted the family with an offer to pay for care at an L.A. hospital with an extensive brain trauma clinic, as well as family accommodations. A timeline for the move is pending Maya's stability for travel.
