Health Canada has issued a sweeping recall for multiple children's toys sold by the company TheKiddoSpace, citing a range of safety hazards from choking and strangulation to chemical exposure and burns. All products were manufactured in China.

Among the recalled items are flashcard talking toys with excessive levels of phthalates and lead, Montessori egg toys that pose a choking risk for children under three, and a cocoon-style sensory swing that can entangle a child's neck. An LED soccer hover ball was recalled for battery overheating that could cause burns, and soft fabric books were flagged because felt parts can detach and cause choking.

Handwriting practice kits were found to contain lead in the pens above Canadian safety limits, and finger painting kits contained toxic methanol, ethylene glycol, and phthalates. Also recalled are peg dolls in cups, which pose a choking hazard for toddlers, and a Christmas tree play set with lead in the zipper pull and a hazardous battery compartment.

In total, thousands of units were sold across Canada between 2023 and 2025. The company has reported 18 worldwide incidents from the finger painting kits, including skin irritation and swollen lymph nodes, but no injuries in Canada related to the other products. Consumers are told to immediately stop using the toys and contact TheKiddoSpace for a full refund.
