According to OpenAI's internal benchmark tests, this AI model reportedly outperformed human doctors in specific clinical tasks. The platform features include a clinical search function drawing on peer-reviewed sources, a deep research mode, reusable workflow templates, and the ability to earn continuing medical education credits. Conversations will not be used for training OpenAI's models, and HIPAA compliance support is available.

OpenAI also introduced HealthBench Professional, a new benchmark for evaluating AI performance in realistic clinical scenarios. The company reported that its GPT-5.4 model, running within ChatGPT for Clinicians, achieved a score of 59.0, surpassing human physicians' score of 43.7 on the benchmark. OpenAI emphasized that the tool is intended to support, not replace, clinical judgment.
