A new study from the UK shows an online breathing and wellbeing program, based on singing techniques, significantly improves symptoms in people with long COVID.

Researchers evaluated the ENO Breathe program across 51 National Health Service long COVID clinics. The study involved 1,413 participants, average age 49, with 80% being female. Patients had suffered long COVID symptoms for a median of 415 days.

After the 6-week program, participants reported measurable improvements in both mental and physical health-related quality of life. Key findings included significant reductions in breathlessness during daily activities like walking and climbing stairs, as well as decreased anxiety. The benefits were consistent regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, or pre-existing asthma.

The findings suggest ENO Breathe offers a scalable, accessible intervention for managing persistent breathlessness associated with long COVID.
