A Portuguese company, Promptly Health, is connecting clinical data on over 70 million people across Europe and Brazil. The company's recent expansion into Brazil involves partnering with Hapvida NotreDame Intermédica, one of Latin America's largest healthcare groups, providing access to over 16 million beneficiaries.

Promptly's platform enables hospitals and health systems to share information without transferring sensitive clinical data, ensuring data control remains with the originating institutions. This integration boosts access to real-world clinical data crucial for research.

With a network of about 400 hospitals across Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, the UK, and now Brazil, Promptly Health is poised to support multinational clinical studies and research initiatives. CEO Pedro Ramos highlighted the partnership's potential to unlock previously inaccessible Brazilian clinical data for global researchers, enhancing the breadth of healthcare knowledge available.

The announcement coincides with the EU's EEDS Regulation, which aims for standardized electronic health data exchange across member states, slated for full implementation by 2029.
