Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is fighting to keep his controversial vaccine advisory panel intact. He filed a notice of appeal Wednesday challenging a judge's ruling that wiped out the committee.
The panel, officially known as the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), was overhauled by Kennedy earlier this year. He rewrote its charter to appoint allies skeptical of vaccines, shifting the focus to alleged vaccine injuries.
Meanwhile, drama erupted within the panel. Robert Malone-a noted anti-vaccine activist appointed by Kennedy as ACIP vice chair-publicly clashed with an HHS spokesperson and abruptly resigned. Malone posted on social media that the committee had been disbanded, only to be contradicted by HHS. He then quit, saying he was 'done with the CDC and ACIP'.
