Model and reality star Will Jardell, 35, built his career on a fit physique until Thanksgiving 2021, when he woke up immobilized by severe back pain.

After nearly a year of inactivity, doctors diagnosed Jardell with lower back arthritis-a genetic condition he discovered at 34. Physical therapy, chiropractic adjustments, and acupuncture failed to provide lasting relief. The sudden sedentary lifestyle caused a 40-pound weight gain, pushing him to 250 pounds, and elevated his cholesterol.

“I got kind of scared about aging,” Jardell admitted. To regain control, he enlisted coach Chris Evans and Transform Fitness to build a six-day-a-week regimen mixing strength training with HIIT classes.

The former dancer focused heavily on legs and core stability to support his spine. Nutrition required a major shift. A long-time vegetarian, Jardell struggled to consume enough lean protein, often gravitating toward comfort food. To bridge the gap, he introduced fish into his diet and doubled his protein intake.

Since November 2025, Jardell dropped 30 pounds and three pant sizes. While focused on losing 10 more, he prioritizes gaining muscle over the scale. “You only have one body,” he says. “The rewards are endless.”
