Atlético Madrid has ended its summer pursuit of Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen. The Turkish club firmly rejected a €120 million inquiry made on June 11.

Club president Dursun Özbek stated Osimhen "is not available for transfer this summer." The Nigerian forward is under contract with Galatasaray until 2029.

The decision leaves Atlético without a primary contingency plan as forward Julián Álvarez has publicly expressed his desire to leave the club. Álvarez has framed his potential departure around achieving personal ambitions.

Galatasaray's stance is firm. They paid €75 million to sign Osimhen permanently from Napoli in July 2025. Selling him now would undermine their sporting project.

Atlético now faces a significant challenge. If Álvarez departs, the club must secure a top-tier forward in a seller's market, without an alternative already in place.
