BERGAMO, Italy - Atalanta secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over Napoli on Sunday, with Lazar Samardzic scoring a late winner. The win extends Atalanta's unbeaten Serie A run to nine games.
Napoli took the lead in the 18th minute when Sam Beukema headed home a free kick. However, Atalanta fought back. Mario Pasalic equalized with a header in the 61st minute from a corner.
Samardzic then sealed the three points for Atalanta in the 81st minute, finding the far post with his shot. The victory moves Atalanta to seventh in the league standings.
Napoli, currently third, now trails league leaders Inter Milan by 14 points.
