INDIAN WELLS, California - Aryna Sabalenka overcame a shaky start to defeat Elena Rybakina 3-6, 6-3, 7-6(6) in a dramatic Indian Wells final.
The world number one, who had lost four consecutive major finals, struggled with her serve and timing early. But she adjusted mid-match, shifting from defensive rallying to aggressive play as confidence returned.
"I had plans A through E, but only D and E worked," Sabalenka said. "I had to keep going, keep pushing, and trust my tools." Her ability to adapt under pressure proved decisive.
The win marks Sabalenka’s first title at Indian Wells and cements her status as a resilient force in women’s tennis.
