U.S. men’s national team star Folarin Balogun was sent off with a red card during the second half of Wednesday night’s World Cup Round of 32 match against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Balogun was dismissed after stepping on an opponent’s leg while challenging for the ball.
Despite scoring the opening goal in the first half, the ejection forces the United States to play the remainder of the match with 10 men. A U.S. victory would come at a cost, as the red card suspension would rule Balogun out of the next knockout round.
