Brighton & Hove Albion's Georginio Rutter salvaged a dramatic 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur with a stoppage-time equalizer on Saturday, leaving the hosts precariously in the Premier League relegation zone.
Xavi Simons had appeared to secure Tottenham's first league win of 2026 with a powerful strike in the 77th minute, but Rutter's late goal denied them.
Tottenham now face a looming threat of relegation, remaining winless in 15 league matches and sitting 18th in the table, having played a game more than the teams immediately above them.
Pedro Porro had initially put Tottenham ahead in the 39th minute. Brighton responded just before halftime with a sublime volley from substitute Kaoru Mitoma to level the score.
