Nottingham Forest has fired manager Vitor Pereira, ending his tenure after just over four months. The club terminated his contract on July 1, 2026.
Pereira was appointed on February 15, 2026. He achieved the primary objectives set by the club: securing Premier League survival with a 16th-place finish and guiding the team to the UEFA Europa League semi-finals.
He was the fourth manager for Forest during the 2025-26 season, following Nuno Espírito Santo, Ange Postecoglou, and Sean Dyche. His 18-month contract, meant to run through 2027, was cut short.
Owner Evangelos Marinakis is known for his rapid managerial turnover at both Forest and Olympiacos. The decision to dismiss a manager who secured top-flight status-which is critical for hundreds of millions in broadcast revenue-points to factors beyond on-field results.
Crystal Palace's Oliver Glasner is reported to be the frontrunner for the vacancy. Forest will now seek its fifth manager in a single year ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
