Bukayo Saka says Arsenal's Premier League title win has silenced the doubters after a long and difficult journey.
Reflecting on the club's transformation, the 24-year-old recalled a dark period in 2020 when Arsenal sat 15th in the standings. At that time, he posted a picture of himself looking disconsolate on social media with the caption: "You deserve more Arsenal fans."
Now, after ending a 22-year wait for the Premier League trophy, Saka says the pain is over. "From social media, the banter and what people say about Arsenal, how they laugh about us... It's done now. No more jokes, it's our time."
Saka, who lifted the trophy at Selhurst Park after a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace, described the moment as "surreal." He said to teammate Jurrien Timber, "We are standing in our dreams."
Declan Rice also shared a pivotal moment: after Arsenal's loss to Manchester City, he told his teammates, "It's not done." That defiant message proved to be the turning point as Arsenal won every remaining game, while City stumbled and finished seven points behind.
