As the NFL negotiates a new media rights deal expected to exceed $10 billion annually, longtime broadcaster Tim Brando warns that fans-especially those over 40-are overwhelmed by the growing number of streaming services required to watch live sports.

Brando, currently with FOX Sports, told “Don’t @ Me with Dan Dakich” that viewers are frustrated trying to locate games once available on traditional networks like CBS, FOX, NBC, and ABC. Now, key matchups air exclusively on Netflix, Peacock, Amazon Prime Video, and ESPN+.

He cited March Madness as an example: Big East Tournament games moved from FOX to Peacock, leaving many fans unable to find them. “People are like, ‘Where’s the game? I can’t find the game,’” Brando said.

The FCC has opened public comment on the broader trend of live sports migrating from free broadcast channels to paid streaming-a shift affecting the NBA, MLB, and especially the NFL. In 2025, watching every NFL game cost fans between $575 and nearly $800.

Brando emphasized that legacy networks can’t match the deep pockets of tech giants like Amazon, Apple, and Netflix, accelerating the move away from over-the-air television-and leaving loyal fans behind.
