BYD Becomes Title Sponsor of Singapore International Marathon

Chinese automaker BYD has been named title sponsor of the Singapore International Marathon, ending Standard Chartered’s 22-year run as lead sponsor.

The event will be held December 4-6. The 5km and 10km races take place December 4 evening; the half-marathon on December 5 morning; and the full marathon on December 6 morning. Children’s races occur December 4 morning.

Registrations open in April. Participant cap set at 52,000-down from 55,000 in 2025-to improve runner experience following congestion complaints.

Adidas is presenting sponsor. Race categories now branded: BYD Marathon, adidas Half Marathon, and Standard Chartered 10km. Standard Chartered remains official bank.

New organizer SG International Marathon Private Limited (SGIMPL) assumed control in December after selection by Sport Singapore. The BYD Marathon retains World Athletics Gold Label status-the only race in Southeast Asia with that designation.
