Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana and Burnley midfielder Hannibal Mejbri reported experiencing racist abuse on social media following their Premier League match. Fofana shared screenshots of discriminatory messages received on Instagram after the 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge. "These people are never punished. You create big campaigns against racism, but nobody actually does anything," Fofana stated.

Chelsea issued a statement condemning the "completely unacceptable" behavior, emphasizing that "There is no room for racism." The club pledged to work with authorities to identify perpetrators and take strong action.

Mejbri also highlighted abusive messages he received, urging, "Educate yourself and your kids." Burnley echoed the sentiment, stating, "There is no place for this in our society and we condemn it unreservedly." The club confirmed reporting the incident to Meta, Instagram's parent company, and expects support from relevant authorities to identify the responsible individual.
