Italian Flavio Cobolli has advanced to the French Open final after his compatriot and semi-final opponent, Matteo Arnaldi, withdrew due to a virus. The tenth seed will now face German second seed Alexander Zverev in Sunday's championship match.

Arnaldi explained he began feeling ill the night before, suffering from vomiting and an inability to keep down food or water. Despite medical attention, his condition did not improve.

For Cobolli, this marks his first Grand Slam final appearance.
