Canada's captain Sidney Crosby will not be in the lineup for Sunday's Olympic men's ice hockey gold medal game against the U.S. Crosby, 38, suffered an injury during the quarter-finals and subsequently missed the semi-final. He was instrumental in Canada's 2010 Vancouver Olympic gold medal victory with an overtime goal against the U.S. and also led the team to gold in 2014. The highly regarded "Sid the Kid" remains a national hero.

Canada is set to face the U.S. later on Sunday at the Santagiulia arena.
