Professional wrestling entered a new era last week with two major championship changes setting the stage for massive summer events.
CM Punk captured the Undisputed WWE Championship on "Monday Night Raw" in Chicago, ending Sami Zayn's nine-day reign. Cody Rhodes was originally scheduled for the match but was attacked by Gunther, leading to Punk's replacement.
Punk will defend the title against Rhodes at SummerSlam, but first they must team together against Zayn and Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
In AEW, Kenny Omega defeated MJF for the AEW World Championship in a dramatic match on "Dynamite." Omega had to overcome interference from Will Ospreay and a low blow from MJF to secure victory.
"Hangman" Adam Page returned to AEW after missing four months with cervical radiculopathy. He announced he would honor his stipulation and never challenge for the AEW world championship again, instead targeting other titles.
Longtime WWE star Sheamus appears to be leaving the company after his contract expired. The former multi-time champion changed his social media profiles to his real name and posted a farewell message.

Baron Corbin made a surprising return to WWE, interfering in a SmackDown match between Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes. Kyle Fletcher won the AEW International Championship.
