ROME, March 19 - Bologna stunned AS Roma with a 4-3 extra-time victory in the Europa League Round of 16 second leg, sealing a 5-4 aggregate win. Nicolo Cambiaghi scored the decisive goal deep into extra time, capping a wild comeback after Roma had forced the match beyond regulation.

Bologna led 3-1 on the night before Roma rallied with two late goals-Donyell Malen from the penalty spot and Lorenzo Pellegrini-to send the tie into extra time.

Earlier, Jonathan Rowe opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, followed by a Federico Bernardeschi penalty and a Santiago Castro strike. Roma’s Evan Ndicka had equalized with a powerful header in the first half.

Elsewhere, Aston Villa advanced comfortably with a 2-0 home win over Lille for a 3-0 aggregate result. John McGinn and Leon Bailey scored in the second half at Villa Park.

Real Betis overturned a first-leg deficit with a dominant 4-0 win over Panathinaikos, setting up a quarter-final clash with Braga.

FC Porto defeated VfB Stuttgart 2-0 (4-1 agg) behind goals from William Gomes and Victor Froholdt. Nikolas Nartey’s second yellow card ended Stuttgart’s hopes early in the second half.

Porto will face Nottingham Forest, who eliminated FC Midtjylland on penalties.
