Swiss curlers Alina Paetz and Sven Michel have both secured medals at the Winter Olympics, marking a significant achievement for the couple.

Paetz, 35, earned a silver medal as part of the women's team, while Michel, 37, claimed a bronze with the men's team.

Both athletes described the experience of watching each other compete as intensely nerve-wracking, often more so than their own matches. Michel admitted to being "deadly nervous" during Paetz's game and nearly cried when her team secured their spot in the final.

Despite the demanding Olympic schedule, which led them to postpone Valentine's Day celebrations, the couple is accustomed to spending time apart due to their demanding touring schedules. They maintained contact through messages and brief daily interactions.

Their victories will be quickly followed by further competition, as both teams are set to compete in the Swiss Championships next week.
