Olympic gold medalist and six-time Brier champion Mark Nichols has joined Matt Dunstone's curling team as the new second. The addition comes just over a week after the conclusion of the World Championship and fills the vacancy left by the recent retirement of E.J. Harnden, who helped the team win their first Brier title last month.
The 46-year-old Nichols brings extensive experience, having played third for skip Brad Gushue for over a decade. His accolades include a gold medal at the 2006 Winter Olympics, a bronze from the 2022 Games, 22 Brier appearances, and a World Championship title in 2017.
Dunstone's rink is now solidified with Colton Lott at third, Nichols at second, and Ryan Harnden at lead. Nichols previously curled out of Manitoba for two seasons with Jeff Stoughton.
