Colton and Kadriana Lott, a prominent mixed doubles curling team from Gimli, Manitoba, are targeting Canada's first World Mixed Doubles Championship gold medal in Geneva, Switzerland.

The couple has a strong track record, securing two gold, two silver, and a bronze at Canadian championships since 2019. "Canada hasn’t won gold in this discipline and that’s what we’re setting out to do. We couldn’t be more hungry and driven to do so," Colton Lott stated.

Despite an 8-1 record at the 2024 world championship, they did not medal. "We've both been there before, so we know what to expect," Kadriana Lott added.

Colton recently won the Brier and a silver medal at the world men's curling championship, experiences he believes will help manage pressure. "Leaning on past experiences with men’s worlds and our worlds, it kind of alleviates some of that pressure," he said.

The competition includes Italy's defending champions but features fewer established teams. "Everybody's good," Colton noted about the fast-paced, intense games. "We just take it game by game and keep that focus."

The Lotts prepared by winning an undefeated Super Series mixed doubles event. "We feel pretty good," Colton commented. "We're in a good headspace going in, feeling good and ready to rock."
