Chelsea's Women's Super League team will relocate all home matches to Stamford Bridge stadium beginning next season. The eight-time WSL champions are joining a growing trend among English clubs, with Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Leicester City already hosting their women's league games at their men's first-team grounds.
For nine years, Chelsea Women have played at Kingsmeadow, a venue that will now be designated for academy matches. The move to the 41,000-capacity Stamford Bridge signifies a major upgrade from the 4,850-seat Kingsmeadow.
Chelsea players expressed mixed emotions in an open letter, acknowledging the history made at Kingsmeadow while embracing Stamford Bridge as the stage befitting the team's ambitions to win more trophies and create further history.
