Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant is defending New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart after he faced backlash for introducing President Donald Trump at a rally last week.
"I really don't understand the hate Jaxson Dart got for introducing President Trump. Good or bad..if you support Trump or not..you’re in a lose lose situation," Bryant wrote on X.
Bryant added: "Politics and religion are difficult for sports. Folks have the right to believe in whatever the f--- they want."
The controversy began after teammate Abdul Carter publicly criticized Dart for his appearance alongside Trump. Both players addressed the situation on Friday, along with head coach John Harbaugh and backup quarterback Jameis Winston.
"Some things are bigger than football, and this is one of those things," Carter told reporters. "Jaxson is one of our leaders. He's the face of our franchise. He not only represents himself and what he does, but he represents all of us."

Dart explained his decision, saying: "This was a unique opportunity... being asked and given the opportunity to introduce the President of the United States. My thinking was pretty simple... I've always loved this country."
Despite the disagreement, both players emphasized their bond remains strong. "He's my brother," Dart said. Winston added he was "proud" of both players for handling the situation maturely.
