Scotland loose forward Jack Dempsey may return to Six Nations action sooner than expected after a bicep injury had cast doubt on his participation.

Dempsey sustained the injury during Scotland's victory over England on February 14, subsequently missing the win against Wales. Coach Gregor Townsend had previously indicated Dempsey was unlikely to feature further in the tournament, which includes a significant fixture against France this Saturday.

However, Dempsey rejoined Scotland's training sessions on Friday. Glasgow Warriors coach Franco Smith confirmed Dempsey's return to camp and training, suggesting the injury is manageable and raising hopes for a swift comeback. Dempsey, a former Australia international, has been a consistent player for Scotland since 2022 and participated in the last Rugby World Cup.
