March 19 - Enzo Fernández remains fully committed to Chelsea despite recent ambiguous remarks about his future, interim manager Liam Rosenior stated ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Everton.

Fernández, who cost £106 million ($141.58 million) from Benfica in January 2023 and is under contract through 2032, told ESPN he “doesn’t know” about next season following Chelsea’s 8-2 Champions League exit at the hands of Paris St Germain.

“He made it really clear how happy he is here, how much he wants to win, and how passionate he is for us to be successful,” Rosenior said. “In translation and in emotions, things get misconstrued. For me, he is fully committed.”

Rosenior also addressed defender Trevoh Chalobah’s injury, confirming a six-week recovery timeline after an alarming ankle twist during the PSG match-less severe than initially feared.

Chelsea, sixth in the league with one win in their last five matches, aim to secure Champions League qualification with eight games remaining and an FA Cup run still active.

“We are still in a place to effect things in a positive way,” Rosenior added.
