PRAGUE, March 25 : Japan's Kaori Sakamoto leads the women's singles short programme at the world figure skating championships with 79.31 points. Mone Chiba of Japan is in second place with 78.45 points, and American Amber Glenn is in third with 72.65 points.

The event marks Sakamoto's final competitive event before retirement, and she performed to 'Time to Say Goodbye' by Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman. The championship is missing reigning Olympic and world champion Alysa Liu of the U.S., who cited a busy schedule after the Games.
