This year's French Open will feature a 9.5% increase in prize money, bringing the total purse to €61.7 million (approximately $72.69 million). Organizers stated the boost continues a trend of rising player earnings at the claycourt Grand Slam. Efforts have focused on increasing prize money across all rounds to ensure fairer revenue distribution.
The tournament will also pioneer a trial of wearable connected devices for players to collect physical performance data, becoming the first Grand Slam to adopt such technology. This trial will extend to Wimbledon and the U.S. Open.
Additionally, the French Open will host ceremonies to honor players appearing for the final time or who have recently retired. These include former world number four Caroline Garcia, Frenchman Gael Monfils, and 2015 champion Stanislas Wawrinka.
