Former NASCAR driver Chase Pistone has died at the age of 42, his family announced this week. His brother, Nick, confirmed the passing, stating, "my young brother and best friend is gone."

Pistone competed in 10 NASCAR races, including six in the Truck Series and four in the O'Reilly Series, with a best finish of ninth in 2014. He also owned CP Inc., a company specializing in building and repairing stock cars.

Legends Nation reported that Pistone's brothers requested the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline be shared. He was the grandson of former driver "Tiger" Tom Pistone.

RFK Racing's Brian Murphy remembered Pistone as "not only a talented racer but a true mentor who poured his time, knowledge, and passion into the next generation."
