Hip-hop artist Flavor Flav has invited the United States women’s hockey team to Las Vegas for a celebratory event following their Olympic gold medal victory. The invitation comes after the team declined an invitation to President Donald Trump's State of the Union address due to prior commitments.

A formal invitation shared by Flavor Flav stated, "We saw the story about the men’s invite to the White House, and the not quite invite for the women’s team. Flav recently posted on social media an idea and invite for the women’s hockey team to Las Vegas for a real celebration."

The U.S. Women's Hockey Team, after winning gold over Canada, had cited "previously scheduled academic and professional commitments" for declining the State of the Union invitation. President Trump had also extended an invitation to the men's team.

Flavor Flav's proposal includes "nice dinners and shows and good times," with hopes of securing assistance for hotel and airline arrangements. He also extended an invitation to the U.S. Bobsled and Skeleton team, who achieved a record six Olympic medals.

This follows a previous instance where Flavor Flav assisted Olympian discus thrower Veronica Fraley with her rent before the 2024 Paris Olympics.
