Former NBA champion Glen Davis has been released from prison more than a year early following his conviction for involvement in a healthcare fraud scheme targeting the NBA Players’ Health and Welfare Benefit Plan. Sentenced to 40 months, Davis served 17 months before being granted early release.
Davis, a member of the 2008 Boston Celtics championship team, was one of 20 individuals charged in the conspiracy. He had originally been scheduled to report to prison in September 2024 but was given an additional two months to complete a documentary film, delaying his start by seven weeks.
He is now set to serve three years of supervised release, including mandatory drug treatment, financial management training, and $80,000 in restitution.
Davis confirmed his release via a video post on X, stating, "They tried to hold me down. You know what I’m saying? But I’m back, man. I’m back, baby."
