Jaylen Brown Escalates Feud with Stephen A. Smith, Labels Him 'Face of Clickbait Media'

Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown's season may be over, but his feud with ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith is just heating up.

During a livestream Sunday night, Brown unloaded on Smith after the sports pundit earlier told Brown to "be quiet." The five-time All-Star responded forcefully, telling Smith to retire and calling him the "face of clickbait media."

"You want me to be quiet and stop streaming? Well, I want you to be quiet and get off these networks because you're not using your platform to do real journalism," Brown said. "You're using your platform to use clickbait."

Brown argued Smith doesn't understand how leadership and team chemistry carried the Celtics-who entered the season without teammate Jayson Tatum due to a torn Achilles-to a 56-26 record and the Atlantic Division title. Brown averaged 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.1 assists across 71 games.

Smith previously responded to Brown's accusation that NBA referees have an agenda against him. Brown has now challenged Smith to retire, suggesting it might "spark a movement" to rid media of individuals lacking integrity.
