Japan's Gamba Osaka won the Asian Champions League Two final 1-0 against Al-Nassr in Riyadh on Saturday, denying Cristiano Ronaldo his first major trophy since joining the Saudi Pro League leaders in 2023.
Deniz Hummet scored the decisive goal in the 30th minute, securing Gamba's second continental title-their first since winning the Asian Champions League 18 years ago.
Al-Nassr dominated possession and created chances, but Gamba's 18-year-old goalkeeper Rui Araki made key saves, including a stop from Abdulrahman Ghareeb in the seventh minute. Sadio Mane also hit the side-netting early on.
Hummet capitalized on Issam Jebali's through pass, slotting home from 16 yards out. Al-Nassr pushed for an equalizer, with Ghareeb coming close before halftime and Ronaldo glancing a header wide in stoppage time. Joao Felix hit the post in the 77th minute, and a last-ditch block by Gamba defender Takeru Kishimoto preserved the lead.
